About the Role

Help people maintain their independence and dignity while recovering in the comfort of their own homes. As a Home Health Aide, you'll provide essential personal care and support that enables patients to heal, regain strength, and achieve their health goals without leaving home. This rewarding position is ideal for a certified aide who is passionate about helping patients work toward independence. You'll work under the supervision of registered nurses as part of a collaborative healthcare team, making a real difference in patients' daily lives and recovery journeys.

What You'll Do

Provide Essential Personal Care

  • Assist patients with personal hygiene including bathing, grooming, oral care, and dressing
  • Help with ambulation, range of motion exercises, and proper positioning
  • Provide skin care to prevent breakdown and promote healing
  • Support patients with safe transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices

Support Recovery and Independence

  • Assist with nutritional support including meal preparation and feeding assistance
  • Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, and blood pressure
  • Help patients with medication reminders for self-administered medications
  • Encourage self-management skills to promote patient and caregiver independence

Maintain Safe, Clean Environments

  • Perform light household activities that support patient care
  • Provide homemaking services that facilitate safe, sanitary care at home
  • Follow proper infection control and prevention practices
  • Use safety measures and handle hazardous materials according to protocols

Observe and Communicate

  • Monitor and promptly report changes in patient status to supervising RN
  • Document care provided and significant observations accurately
  • Recognize emergency situations and implement appropriate protocols
  • Participate in patient care conferences as directed

Follow Care Plans

  • Provide services strictly according to written care plans
  • Perform patient-specific tasks for which you've been validated as competent
  • Adapt flexibly to schedule changes based on patient needs
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Current certification as a nurse aide or home health aide (must be in good standing on state nurse aide registry)
  • Completion of minimum 75 hours of training (16 hours classroom + 16 hours practical training)
  • Must meet Medicare Home Health Aide training program and competencies
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Reliable transportation with valid automobile insurance
  • Willingness to travel daily to patient homes and facilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a certified home health aide, hospice aide, or certified nursing assistant

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position requires daily travel to patient homes and residential facilities within your service area. You'll work in various home environments and must be comfortable adapting to different settings. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs with assistance), and using proper body mechanics for patient care activities. Schedule flexibility is needed as assignments may change daily based on patient needs and staffing.

Pay Range
$19-$23 USD
