What you'll do We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Business Development Specialist to drive growth within the Navy defense sector, specifically focusing on unmanned connectivity, satellite communications, and space and mission system support. This role requires a strong understanding of military requirements, procurement processes, and emerging technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities with government agencies, defense contractors, and other key stakeholders. The day-to-day Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers within the Department of the Navy (DoN), military branches, and defense contractors. Identify and qualify new business opportunities by conducting thorough market research, analyzing competitor activities, and assessing customer needs. Support the preparation and submission of high-quality proposals, ensuring alignment with client requirements and adherence to all government regulations. Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings, effectively showcasing our capabilities and building brand awareness. Maintain a robust business development pipeline and provide regular reports and forecasts to senior management. Understand and address the specific challenges and opportunities within the autonomous and Satcom market, such as the need to modernize terminals and leverage commercial satellite capacity and deliver a singular hybrid satcom service and mesh network. What you'll need Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field/military experience. 5+ years of demonstrated experience in business development within the defense or aerospace sector, with a focus on government contracts and complex technology solutions. Strong understanding of satellite communication technologies, including ground terminals, services, and networking concepts. Familiarity with the challenges and trends in the military SATCOM ground terminal market, such as the need to modernize ground infrastructure and integrate new technologies like high-throughput satellites (HTS) and phased-array antennas.
