Sheerhealth
Infrastructure Engineer
Salary
Job description
Product · New York City · Full time · On-site
About the Role
We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to own the systems that keep Sheer Health running. You'll build the observability, reliability, and automation foundations that let our product team ship quickly and confidently. This is a high-ownership role with broad scope — you'll set the technical direction for how we operate our infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Feature and platform work to support web scraping and backend teams
- Design and operate our observability stack: metrics, logs, traces, and alerting that actually help engineers debug production
- Define and uphold reliability standards — SLOs, error budgets, incident response, and postmortems
- Build out our infrastructure-as-code practice so every environment is reproducible, reviewable, and version-controlled
- Improve build speed
- Lead incident response when things break, and drive the follow-up work to make sure they break less often
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years building and operating production infrastructure at scale
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Strong fluency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CDK, or similar)
- Experience with build tools (Bazel, Make, Docker)
- Hands-on experience with modern observability tooling (Datadog, Grafana, Honeycomb, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, etc.)
- Comfort writing production code in a general-purpose language
What We Offer
- A competitive salary and benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401K
- Subway reimbursement
- Generous PTO and a flexible work environment
- A supportive and collaborative team that values personal and professional growth
- Opportunities to make a significant impact on the healthcare industry and improve people's lives
If you are passionate about building innovative solutions that make a real difference in people's lives, we encourage you to apply. Join us in our mission to empower individuals to take control of their healthcare data and medical expenses.
