Job description

The Apprentice Operational Administrator will provide administrative support to the Operations Team to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day operations. This role will involve updating the daily work schedule, administrative processes, maintaining accurate records, provide holiday cover for Statutory Undertaker Information provision and communicating professionally with internal and external stakeholders. The apprentice will undertake the Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship at Suffolk New College combining workplace learning with off-the-job training to develop essential business and administrative skills. Key Responsibilities: Provide general administrative support to the Operations Team. Manage Field Service, in house operations scheduling system, to ensure it is updated daily Assist with answering incoming calls through the telephone system and ensuring enquiries are handled or directed appropriately. Support the production of Operations reports and associated documentation. Assist in maintaining documentation required for ISO compliance. Provide administrative support for site facilities as required. Liaise professionally with internal colleagues and external contacts. Support in collating Statutory Undertaker Information Record packs. Help produce project packs and RAMS.

Experience & Knowledge No previous professional experience required – full training will be provided Basic experience using spreadsheets and processing information online and on paper Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams) Confident communicating by telephone, email or face‑to‑face (e.g. through school, college, work experience or volunteering) A general awareness of office administration or business processes (desirable) Skills & Attributes Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and external contacts Highly organised with strong attention to detail Able to work to tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Adaptable and comfortable managing change Proactive, keen to learn and willing to take on new responsibilities Positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Able to identify and resolve problems using initiative and sound judgement Qualifications & Additional Requirements Right to work in the UK GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grade 4/C or above Full UK driving licence, or working towards obtaining one
