Get to Know Your Team: Physicians Surgical Hospitals includes two surgical centers - Panhandle Surgical Hospital and Quail Creek Surgical Hospital, and one physical therapy center - Quail Creek Physical Therapy - and a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center, Advanced Imaging Center of Amarillo. Responsibilities Surgical First Assistants assist physicians in surgery and may perform specific surgical tasks under “professional supervision”. Significant surgical tasks include but are not limited to opening and closing surgical sites, exposure of the surgical site, harvesting grafts, dissecting tissue, removing tissue, implanting devices, and altering tissues. Perform the CST role when not utilized in the First Assistant Role. Qualifications Job Requirements: Current Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Previous CST experience (prefer two years). P re vious CSFA experience (prefer minimum 2 years exp). Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program . Current CS FA certification .
