Key Accountabilities:

Works on project design and development for new or existing products.

Define System requirements with cross functional teams or coordinate engineering requirements in accordance with industry codes and standards for specified market.

Understand the serialised product and customised solution requirements to execute the required changes in different genset systems.

Manage customer requirements and manage design scope and changes for limited local projects.

Prepare model / drawings at part, system or sub system level to accommodate the changes.

Verifies and confirms manufacturing drawings, P&I diagrams, schematics, data sheets and similar drawings for compliance with design specifications.

Prepare engineering calculations and drawings in accordance with applicable codes, contract requirements, while utilizing industry standard/Rolls-Royce power Solutions.

Prepare and finalize equipment specifications for major equipment.

Select effective design concepts and fundamental technology for new products or improvement of existing products.

Review and compare customer specifications against MTU designs and equipment vendor proposals.

Complete work according to standard engineering principles and practices including understanding and execution of engineering releases in SAP and PLM system.

Responsible for following RRPS procedures per the company’s quality system.

Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.

Performs special projects as required.

Be the Liaison between sales, internal engineering, project management, and venders when required.

Create and deliver effective presentations to executive management as well as site teams.

Review control systems and schemes.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Application Engineering, Combustion Engineering or Automotive Engineering and minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience with design, field service, application, sales or manufacturing engineering.

Willingness to travel for local business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of design and diesel / gas system capabilities.

Excellent applied knowledge about reciprocating internal combustion engines used in genset applications including exhaust treatment technologies.

Excellent ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Strong ability to read and interpret P&I diagrams and manufacturing drawings.

Understanding of Sheet Metal Manufacturing, system components and subsystems.

Alternator/ basic electrical knowledge.

Documentation of all design.

Genset, Engine Experience (Data Centre or CE market experience would be preferred).

Site Visit for Design Inspection; Supplier Visit for Design validation and inspection.

Working with Site Team, Application Engineering, and Project lead.

Fundamental knowledge of AC and DC electricity.

Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings such as single line diagrams and point to point drawings.

Experience in mechanical systems control systems.

Strong ability to take initiative and work independently.

Strong problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and explain those conclusions to management in form of presentations.

Computer Skills: MS Office suite, drafting tools, CAD and PLM tools like Creo, Windchill, SAP.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Social Skills: Dependability, Versatility, Flexibility, and Team Oriented.

Commissioning, testing or site inspection experience.

Control systems, PLC, parameter changes basic understanding.

Project experience.
