Job description
Leadership & Management Systems:
- Lead by example to drive a world-class EHS culture and help the organization meet its safety objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve our management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, VCA) and ensure alignment with Veolia's internal framework.
- Drive the practical implementation of EHS policies, strategies, and legal requirements on the ground.
Operational & Project Support:
- Provide expert EHS advice for new water treatment projects, from design to commissioning (e.g., HAZOP, RAMS, safety by design, site safety plans).
- Act as the EHS point of contact for our service activities, supporting operational teams in the field.
- Lead key safety events such as risk assessments, safety walks, incident investigations, and kick-off meetings.
- Respond effectively to customer EHS requirements and audits.
Training & Communication:
- Develop and deliver targeted EHS training to operational teams in your areas of expertise.
- Manage the EHS training program, from maintaining the catalogue to tracking employee progress.
- Ensure clear and engaging communication on all EHS matters across the organization.
Compliance & Administration:
- Monitor compliance with Dutch/Belgian EHS legislation and company procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence.
- Manage and maintain our online EHS reporting tools, ensuring data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Oversee the management of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), from selection to catalogue updates.
What You'll Bring to the Team (Required Qualifications)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar EHS role, preferably in an industrial or service-oriented environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Netherlands EHS legislation.
- Fluency in Dutch and English is essential. Proficiency in French is a strong asset.
- Proven experience with EHS management systems like ISO 45001 and/or VCA.
- An autonomous, self-starting, and proactive mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a creative, solution-oriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project safety methodologies (RAMS, HAZOP, safety by design, PSSR).
- Experience as a trainer or in delivering professional training.
- A collaborative, team-player attitude with a global perspective.
- Experience working in a multinational corporate environment.
