The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic and high-performing Commercial P&C Pricing team.
The Commercial P&C Pricing team is dedicated to supporting the pricing and profitability of Aviva’s Commercial P&C insurance portfolio. Through rigorous actuarial analyses and data-driven insights across Property and Casualty products, we empower the business leaders to make informed decisions that drive financial performance and sustainable growth.
What you’ll do:
Own the semi-annual P&C rate indications across regions and industry segments, generate actionable insights, and present recommendations to senior business leaders to support decision-making and guide pricing strategy.
Develop pricing proposals that ensure rate adequacy and alignment with strategic business objectives, and collaborate with underwriting to refine risk segmentation and support profitable growth.
Monitor performance by region and segment, identify emerging trends and recommend actions to support profitability and growth targets.
Deliver rate, value and loss ratio projections to support the annual business planning process.
Lead pricing reviews for various coverages and segments.
Maintain and improve SAS procedures; proactively identify and resolve data issues.
Lead the technical development of pricing tools.
Coach and mentor junior analysts and co-op students.
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
3+ years of P&C actuarial experience.
Completion of 4 or more SOA/CAS exams.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Effectively communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
What makes you stand out:
Proficiency in programming; experience in SAS, and VBA.
What you’ll get:
The salary band for this position ranges from $90,000 to $120,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
