Job Title: Planning & Control Process Owner – Demands Management

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Process Owner – Demands Management in the Submarines business. 

The Submarines business is seeing unprecedented levels of forecast growth, and the need to ensure that the long-term UK and Australian ambitions are managed and translated into a coherent & complete operational plan is paramount to success.

The successful candidate will own and lead the demands management process for RRSL, including Sales and Operations Planning, scenario modelling with inventory and load & capacity assessment.  In addition they will have overall accountability for functional and professional development of our P&C network scheduling and technical control population in RRSL.

What you will be doing:

We are seeking a dynamic professional to become the RRSL subject matter expert in demands management and master scheduling, and to:

  • lead the Sales & Operations Planning Process (S&OP) for RRSL, ensuring that the assessment of risks, inventory and financial implications are modelled and evaluated across the internal & external supply chain and are approved by stakeholders
  • lead a team of Schedulers and Technical Controllers, accountable for validating the inputs and processing of SAP demands, providing a demands management shared service across the entire Submarines business
  • To act as sub-process owner for Demands Management, working cross-functionally to ensure integration with Engineering, Supply Chain, Programme Management and Operations activities.
  • To manage the creation and change control of Logistics BoM’s, assessing impacts of change and assuring an effective implementation into production.

  • Proven leadership qualities or experience of managing, building and developing a team.
  • Broad understanding of different roles / functions / processes (e.g. Manufacturing, Purchase, NPI, ME etc).
  • Knowledge of ERP scheduling and planning processes, and an understanding of the impact of scheduling, including Load & Capacity and inventory
  • Strong people skills experience, ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders at different levels both internally and externally
  • Robust organisational, analytical, and decision-making skills.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance.  Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.  Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
