POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day activities of the marketing team within the University of Richmond Department of Athletics which include the coordination and execution of marketing and promotional plans for football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse and select other events. This position is an appointment for the 2026-2027 academic year.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the full-time marketing staff, this position will help in the following areas but not limited to:
Serve as a field producer/stage manager for various assigned games
Design, produce and distribute various marketing materials to solicit student and fan attendance at home contests
Research, create and implement various gameday themes, promotions and giveaways
Research, contact and coordinate national anthem performances and halftime entertainment
Work alongside the Gameday Experience team to develop Run of Show, PA Scripts, graphics and gameday activities
Create and research fun ideas for Spider Kids Club events and help make a plan on how to increase membership; will attend community events to market kids club to families.
Create, research and manage the Family Fun Zone areas at football, basketball and select lacrosse games
All other duties as assigned.
CONTACTS:
Entertainment Guests – Coordination of logistics for National Anthem and halftime performers
Fans – to solicit attendance and to execute in-game promotions
Students – to solicit attendance and to execute in-game promotions also assisting in increasing student attendance at games
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Liaison for entertainment guests attending sporting events
Field Producer/stage manager responsible for overseeing the execution of live elements on gameday
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving boxes
Office environment (sitting, standing, walking, typing)
Minimal or no travel required
Nights and weekends required – must work all game days for football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball, as well as other selected events or games
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills & ability:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or other graphic design products
Self-starter with initiative and creativity
Outstanding organization, detail-oriented and adaptability skills
Ability to work well with coaches, student-athletes, and other staff members
Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations is required.
Education & experience:
Preferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Must be enrolled in a graduate program related to Athletics
Must have at least 1-2 years of related experience
Work Schedule:
Part-time; non-exempt
Schedule will vary based on needs of department
Will work no more than 20 hrs. per week
Pay Structure:
Pay Grade 1 ($15.00 to $17.79 per hour)
