The Mission
As a Senior Counsel at Panther and our first legal hire, you will be the point of contact for all legal functions. You will have a broad range of responsibilities, including drafting and negotiating complex customer and vendor contracts, serving as an entrusted leader to internal stakeholders, and building out our legal framework. This position reports to the Head of Finance.
The Team + Role
Panther is building the future of SOC automation through AI agents that fundamentally change how security teams operate. Our vision is to enable SOC teams to cover 5-10x more data without proportionally scaling headcount by automating the most time-intensive analyst work: alert triage, analysis, and risk validation. We're building intelligent agents that leverage our data pipeline and alerting capabilities to create a SOC team extension that gets smarter over time through collective intelligence.

What you’ll Do:
- Review, examine, draft, and negotiate contracts with customers and vendors.
- Manage the company’s various legal functions (such as privacy, intellectual property, and employment law).
- Define the company’s legal strategy to set up success across the organization.
- Manage our external law firms and be the internal point of contact for legal.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, finance, HR, international operations, and others to ensure compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
- Ensure we are operationally efficient and effective in negotiating and managing contracts across the organization
What You’ll Bring:
- J.D. with bar admission in good standing from any state across the U.S.
- 5+ years of total experience, including at least 3+ years in-house.
- Experience managing the legal function for a growth-stage company.
- Significant experience negotiating customer and vendor agreements at a B2B SaaS/technology company.
- Demonstrated practical, business-oriented approach to balancing legal/contractual issues with business risk.
- Experience overseeing a broad range of legal subject matter, including but not limited to corporate governance, commercial law, & data privacy.
- Proven and excellent analytic, communication, and contract drafting skills.

Cash compensation range: $175,000 - $200,000 USD Annually dependent on experience.
The cash compensation above includes base salary and on-target commission for employees in eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all full-time Pantherinos are eligible to participate in our equity plan to receive Incentive Stock Options (ISO). Individual compensation packages are based on a few factors unique to each candidate, including their location, experience, and expertise, and may vary from the above-mentioned range.
