Job Summary: The College & Career Counselor works to ensure all students graduate with a clear and actionable plan for post-secondary success. As a 0.6 FTE (3 days per week) position, the College & Career Counselor will help to track and update students' graduation plans, support Teacher Leaders in facilitating counseling sessions for 9th and 10th grade students, and work directly with 11th and 12th grade students. Additional responsibilities include scheduling, managing credit recovery, supporting school-wide testing, and implementation of school-wide ICAP. 5280 staff members are passionate, creative, student-centered professionals who thrive in collaborative environments and embrace innovative thinking. Because 5280 serves students in recovery from substance use disorders, the College & Career Counselor must be committed to supporting students through a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented lens. Key Responsibilities: Support students in developing individualized post-secondary plans that may include college, career training, apprenticeships, military service, employment, or other meaningful pathways. Update and maintain graduation plans for all students quarterly. Maintain accurate student records related to graduation and post-secondary readiness. Provide individualized college and career counseling to all 11th and 12th grade students, ensuring each student develops and implements a viable post-secondary plan. Support FAFSA completion and financial aid processes. Assist students with college applications, scholarships, and admissions requirements. Track and report post-secondary outcomes. Partner with Teacher Leaders to implement grade-level college and career readiness programming and support students in exploring pathways aligned with their strengths, interests, and ICAP goals. Implement and update ICAP curriculum. Schedule students for high school classes as well as concurrent enrollment opportunities. Oversee credit recovery programming including scheduling students into credit recovery as necessary. Assist with students in crisis and support students who are struggling academically, socially, or emotionally. Support the School Assessment Coordinator in required assessments. Attend required district trainings. Collaborate on the master schedule. This is a 0.6 FTE position working approximately three days per week on a 195-day contract schedule.
