This is an Hourly position. Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The EKG Technician attaches patients to electrocardiograph machines and/or heart monitors to record electrocardiograms for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating heart disorders/disease. Explains procedures to patients, attaches electrode leads, monitors patients and strips during tests, and stores results for review by cardiologist. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School/GED Completion of Cardiac Rhythm Course within one year to recognize abnormal heart rhythms and artifacts in test data Other Licenses/Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association Healthcare Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
