Job description
We are looking for a hands‑on Accountant / Bookkeeper for our client to join the finance team.
About the role
You will be responsible for managing the full bookkeeping cycle for a growing payment services platform. The role focuses on hands-on accounting tasks such as AP/AR, reconciliations, and P&L reporting, ensuring accurate financial records and smooth operations across multiple entities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and reconcile transactions across banks, payment service providers (PSPs), e-wallets, and crypto channels
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to settlements, chargebacks, refunds, fees, and failed transactions
- Process AP invoices (vendor bills)
- Issue sales invoices to clients
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and payment reconciliations
- Prepare weekly payment release lists
- Prepare weekly and monthly P&L reports, including commentary and merchant-level breakdowns
- Collaborate with the Ops Manager and tech team to ensure transactional accuracy
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Continuously improve accounting and reconciliation processes
REQUIREMENTS – MUST HAVE
- 3–5 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Strong experience with AP/AR, reconciliations, payment processing, and financial reporting
- Experience working across multiple entities and projects
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Zoho, or similar ERP/accounting platforms
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Ability to work independently, proactively identify issues, take ownership, and suggest process improvements
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience working in fintech, payments, iGaming, crypto, or other high-volume transaction environments
- Experience working with PSPs, e-wallets, crypto platforms, or payment processing environments
- Familiarity with Cyprus jurisdiction
- Experience improving or automating reconciliation workflows
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Fully remote position
- Working hours: 9:00–18:00 CET, Monday to Friday
- 20 days of annual leave plus national holidays in your country of residence
