Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Exploration
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand datasets, identify trends, and detect anomalies.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure data quality and readiness.
- Generate actionable insights to inform AI/ML system design and product features.
Model Development & Evaluation
- Build, train, and evaluate machine learning models using supervised learning (classification, regression), unsupervised learning (clustering, anomaly detection) and feature engineering and selection techniques.
- Design experiments, test hypotheses, and validate performance with relevant metrics.
Data Visualization & Prototyping
- Identify visualization needs and design data dashboards and reports.
- Combine model development and visualization to prototype solutions and deliver PoCs.
- Collaborate with AI/ML Engineers and Full-Stack Developers to integrate models into end-user applications.
- Communicate results and present data and insights in meaningful way.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work with product teams to align models with business needs and user requirements.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML, including LLMs and applied machine learning techniques.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and internal best practices.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related technical field
- Internship, or academic project experience involving data analysis or ML Models
Skills
- Familiarity with python for data analysis and modeling including libraries such aspandas, numpy, scikit-learn, XGBoost, pytorch
- Understanding of data visualization tools and libraries such as Tableau, matplotlib, plotly
- Knowledge of ML workflows (training, evaluation, tuning)
- Exposure to feature engineering and data preprocessing techniques
- Ability to work with structured and semi-structured data
- Familiarity with ML experimentation tools (MLFlow or similar)
- Exposure to LLMs, embeddings or retrieval-augmented generation is a plus
- Solid communication skills, framing business problems and translating requirements
