This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary healthcare team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality microbiology and infection prevention services within an acute hospital setting. Role Summary The successful candidate will provide consultant-level clinical microbiology services, supporting patient care through expert advice on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. The role includes laboratory oversight, infection prevention and control leadership, antimicrobial stewardship, and participation in multidisciplinary clinical teams. Key Responsibilities Provide specialist clinical microbiology advice to medical, nursing, and allied health professionals. Support the diagnosis and management of infectious diseases across inpatient and outpatient services. Lead and contribute to infection prevention and control initiatives. Participate in antimicrobial stewardship programmes. Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality microbiology services. Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, audit, and risk management activities. Participate in consultant on-call arrangements as required. Support teaching, training, and professional development of medical and healthcare staff.
