We are seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Procurement Specialist is responsible for executing operational procurement activities to ensure uninterrupted material availability and support business continuity. The role focuses on purchase order execution, supplier performance management, supply risk mitigation, and inventory optimization while operating within the framework of approved suppliers established by Strategic Sourcing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Procurement Execution

  • Execute purchase orders in line with production plans, demand forecasts, and material requirements.
  • Manage and monitor open purchase orders to ensure timely supplier confirmations and delivery commitments.
  • Track shipment schedules and proactively address any delays or deviations.
  • Maintain close communication with suppliers to ensure On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance.
  • Expedite critical materials and resolve supply issues to prevent operational disruptions.

2. Supply Continuity & Risk Management

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate supply risks, material shortages, and delivery constraints.
  • Ensure continuous material availability to support production and business requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Planning, Production, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to align supply with operational needs.
  • Lead shortage management activities and escalate critical supply issues when required.
  • Implement corrective actions to minimize inventory risks and avoid production stoppages.

3. Supplier Performance Management

  • Monitor supplier performance against agreed lead times, service levels, and delivery commitments.
  • Maintain supplier performance metrics, KPIs, and operational scorecards.
  • Identify performance gaps and drive corrective actions with suppliers.
  • Support supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

4. Supplier Allocation & Procurement Execution

  • Select suppliers from the Approved Supplier List (ASL) based on operational requirements and business priorities.
  • Manage volume allocation among approved suppliers, considering:
    • Material availability
    • Lead-time performance
    • Inventory levels
    • Production priorities
    • Service requirements
    • Supply risk mitigation
  • Ensure procurement decisions support business continuity, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary interface between Procurement, Planning, Production, Logistics, Warehouse, and Suppliers.
  • Align procurement activities with production priorities and demand plans.
  • Communicate supply risks, delays, and mitigation plans to relevant stakeholders in a timely and proactive manner.

Role Scope & Governance

  • Operates within the approved supplier framework established by Strategic Sourcing.
  • Responsible for supplier selection and volume allocation among approved suppliers for operational execution.
  • Accountable for material availability, delivery performance, and supply continuity.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in operational procurement, purchasing, or supply chain execution.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment is a must.
  • Packaging industry experience is considered an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems is required (SAP or Oracle preferred).
