Who You Are
As an Accountant, you’ll play a key role in the accurate and timely reporting of both corporate and community financials. You’ll serve as a financial steward for our operations, maintaining precision in our books and providing insight that helps our teams and partners make informed decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on balancing big-picture analysis with hands-on detail and who’s energized by a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
The Difference You Will Make
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements for both internal company entities and community associations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.
Oversee account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals; research and resolve discrepancies independently.
Perform monthly cash reconciliations, process deposits, and complete accounts payable/receivable tie-outs between management company and community association ledgers.
Process vendor invoices, manage workflow queues, and prepare biweekly check runs to support accounts payable operations.
Support the annual budget process and assist in forecasting as needed.
Assist in the year-end audit and tax preparation process in collaboration with external accountants and auditors.
Continuously improve financial processes and internal controls, identifying opportunities for automation and increased efficiency.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with retention policies and industry best practices.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
What You’ll Bring
Strong communication skills.
Proficiency in Google Workspace.
Demonstrated understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
Experience with accounting software; experience in AppFolio, Yardi, or similar systems is a plus.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
Direct Reports and Reporting Relationship:
None, however, the ability to achieve results by working with others within the organization regardless of reporting relationship, is a critical success factor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to both corporate and property/community accounting within the real estate industry.

Location and Travel:
Position will be based in Columbus, Ohio with limited travel to local and out of state markets including but not limited to Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas, Denver, and Florida.
