The Challenge
We are looking for a student to join GE Appliances’ Sales organization working with our Builder channel. This is a year-long internship with potential for future opportunities with GEA Appliances.
In this role, you will work with members of the Inside Sales team on a variety of different projects at GE Appliances’ National Sales Center located in Louisville, Kentucky.
Upon graduation, Sales Interns have the opportunity to interview for our Sales Commercial Development Program. The Sales Commercial Development Program is a leadership program designed to provide employees with experience in both the Retail and Contract sales channels while building a cross-functional network.
What you will Do
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Inside Sales Managers to respond to customer inquiries and issue resolution
- Provide sales support to improve productivity within the Builder Inside Sales team
- Create and analyze sales reports to drive increased productivity and execution
- Assist Sales Managers with order entry, customer contacts, marketing information and other sales-related tasks
- Build relationships with established customers and back up Inside Sales Managers as needed
- Manage new customer process for prospective customers and report key information to Inside Sales Managers
- Own special projects as assigned

What you need to Succeed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Be enrolled in college pursuing a degree and have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Due to the year-round nature of this position, candidate must be attending school local in the Louisville, KY area
- Ability to work a minimum of 19 hours per week during normal business hours (Mon. - Fri. 8:00am – 6:00pm) during the school year and summer at our National Sales Center in Louisville, KY
- Possess the ability to quickly develop functional knowledge of processes
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral communication skills
- Show strong internet and computer keyboard skills as well as proficient use of MS Excel and Word
- Be detail-oriented and have a strong level of accountability
- Be self-guided; able to work logically through daily issues
- Possess a strong work ethic; able to meet deadlines
- Be reliable; able to maintain high attendance standards
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideal candidate has 12-30 months until graduation
