Job description
We're searching for an outstanding Lead Solution Architect to join one of our largest and most exciting tribes - the Gaming tribe. As a tribe, they are responsible for our g aming products (SkyVegas, SkyCasino, SkyBingo, and SkyLotto) and consist of around 120 technology staff working closely with their product, marketing and commercial colleagues.
The very foundations of our teams are built from collaboration, so there's a real emphasis for the successful candidate to be immersed within the team and actively work on complex deliverables alongside them, leading by example.
The key focuses of this role include
•
To run a strong, effective and continuously improving architecture team. Manage the way of workings within a maturing tribe technology function and tightening technical risk stance, while keeping the quality of design work high and maintaining an agile and ambitious attitude to delivery.

Facilitate the agreement of and communication of the forward technical strategy. Gaming already have a clear forward strategy and mission, this role is not to rethink that but to reinforce it within the tribe.

Maintain a high performing team with a mixture of experience all working at their very best.
Continuously Improve the Team
•
Work with wider Architect Community stakeholders and leaders to improve the business-wide architecture processes, and embed a gaming-optimised version within the team.
•
Link the architectural process with delivery and service functions to position it at the very heart of the technical delivery process.
•
Drive effective, timely, concise communication and knowledge sharing strategy to ensure in a growing and fast paced team everyone is as informed as necessary without collective cognitive over-burdening.
•
Lead a stream of continuous improvement within the team from multiple angles to drive improvements in outcome quality – for example documentation management & governance, engagement strategy and prioritisation, review processes, etc.
Facilitate Forward Technical Strategy
•
Build forward on the existing technical strategy to strengthen and refine it, reinforcing its execution across the tribe.
•
Drive the wider communication and understanding of the forward strategy and the current architectural reality of the technology estate we own both in- and outside the tribe.
•
Define and run a collaborative process of assessing the forward strategy against the inevitability of changing circumstances.
Maintain a High Performing Team
•
Foster a culture and team role positioning to enable all gaming architects to deliver at their very best with a high level of collective trust that is crucial in a high performing team.
•
Hire wisely, mentor and guide as necessary.
•
Ensure that individuals work in a way that tackles blockers head on, reduces any technical confusion and is honest and straightforward with stakeholders in what is possible and what isn’t.
