This is a highly impactful position in the Power Module Development team in the Silicon Valley Design Center. We are seeking an experienced power system design engineer who highly proficient in power system design. This individual will design high density power module products using state of the art technology. A thorough knowledge of power supply architectures, simulation, control loop analysis is required. The candidate must be a team player with excellent verbal and written skills, an ability to work independently and methodically. The individual should be able to work on projects with the various support groups.
Job Responsibilities
- Design various High-density power modules using a variety of architectures
- Will define circuit requirements and complete design from schematic, layout, and verification to characterization
- Work with the Layout, Test, Product, Packaging, QA, Marketing, and Evaluation engineers.
- Write Datasheets, specifications, Application notes and test requirements documentation
- Behavioral modeling of power module designs. Simulation utilizing the various simulation tools.
- The selection of the different components used in the module design, with magnetic design knowledge
- Electrical bench analysis, datasheet characterization, and test correlation
Minimum Qualifications
BSEE with 5+ years of power supply design
MSEE with 3+ years experienced or PhD in power system related field.
- Power IC background, and power module design.
- Extensive experience using Spice, Simplis, and LTSPICE
- Control Loop Analysis including hands-on experience with Matlab
- Demonstrated ability to characterize, de-bug and troubleshoot your designs in the lab through hands on characterization.
- Strong analytical skills and extremely detail oriented.
- Proven experience working support teams through the complete development and release of module products is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrable skills for quick ramp-up.
- Team player.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years of power design experience
- Experience in High Density Power Module design
- PMBUS knowledge desired
- Experience in inductor and transformer design
- Experience and knowledge of analog and digital signal processing techniques
- Experience directing layout and filtering design to meet low noise.
