Software Developer
Salary
Job description
Analog Devices (NASDAQ: ADI) designs and manufactures semiconductor products and solutions. We enable our customers to interpret the world around us by intelligently bridging the physical and digital worlds with unmatched technologies that sense, measure and connect.
Software Developer (New Hire)
We are looking for developers who are passionate about their work, with enthusiasm for learning, and who take satisfaction in writing clean code that produces smart solutions. The successful candidate will be able to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that meets the needs of our customers.
We’re a team of action, full of try’ers and do’ers - we try stuff - new software, new languages, new techniques, we make mistakes and we learn from them. We are looking for developers who will work hard, together as a team and individually when it suits better.
Job Responsibilities
- The candidate will be responsible for delivering “best-fit” customer applications and APIs that leverage cloud-based services.
- They will communicate effectively with key stakeholders to produce solutions.
- Execute full lifecycle software development.
- Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility.
- Write clean code with a focus on quality and testability.
- Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
- Perform periodical tests and debugging to maximise program efficiency.
- Document and maintain software functionality.
- Tailor and deploy software tools, processes and metrics.
Must Have
- Education/Experience - bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) OR equivalent experience.
- Cloud technologies - you feel right at home deploying cloud architecture using CDK, Terraform, or another IaC framework, and it’s no problem for you to write some JavaScript or Python when needed.
- Solid foundation in object oriented and/or functional programming - you have hands on experience coding with Java, C#, Go or similar language(s).
- Learn as you go - you have an open mind, are able to pick things up quickly, and stay updated on the latest trends in web and cloud.
- Easy to work with - you're comfortable implementing someone else's design. Others may take your code and build on top of it; you comment your code and you're open to making any changes needed.
- Think outside-the-box - you’re a natural problem solver, have an attention to detail, and enjoy the challenge of big problems.
- Customer focused - you are passionate about working alongside customers, determining what solution best fits their needs, and providing great user experiences.
- See the bigger picture - you have strong conceptual and analytical skills. You can see through the requirements to the problem that needs to be solved, and can realise an elegant solution.
- Team player - we work together on what matters in a dynamic team-oriented and flexible environment. You’ll have tremendous opportunity to work independently too and you’ll be able to take responsibility for what you produce.
- Bring your opinions - we're continuously improving and we want you to make your voice heard; whether it may be to switch from C to Rust, embrace Node 18, or even just your opinion on Vim vs VSCode.
Nice To Have
- Show us what you got - nothing speaks louder or shows us more about you than showing us examples of your work. Got stuff on GitHub, GitLab, …?
- Full Stack Development - we like people who have a well-rounded set of skills, be it back end services or front end frameworks or DevOps, who can chip in and help others when needed. Got skills in NoSQL, CDN, Node.js, React, OAuth, …?
- Version control – You have used Git or similar to manage changes in your software, better yet you have used a recognised workflow to keep things organised.
- Build tools - you're a fan of using tools like GitHub Actions, Jira, CodeBuild, SonarQube, …
