Description

As a Medical Physicist Assistant (MPA) on our Southern California team, you will be providing services under the supervision of a Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP). Services include, but are not limited to, consultation as a radiation safety officer (RSO), imaging physics surveys in radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine including gamma cameras, PET, and quarterly RAM license support. The position will be based in Southern LA or Oranage County and will include regional travel and some overnight stays (less than 20%). Some limited national travel may be required. The applicant should be proactive, a quick learner, client focused, and for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Working under the supervision and direction of a QMP performing surveys of all types of radiographic, fluoroscopic, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine modalities
  • Coordinate with clients the scheduling of surveys under the direction of the QMP
  • Support QMP providing consulting and training services to clients in medical imaging quality and radiation safety
  • Submit reports that include observations and recommended follow-up actions for QMP review on time
  • Frequently check-in with clients to build relationships, understand their current challenges, and learn to better serve them

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in physics, engineering or applied science preferred
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting in Radiology department or similar preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technical procedures in an unfamiliar environment

Extensive experience with computer systems and the use of a laptop to perform daily duties, including cloud based tools for workflow and file storage
