Your impact
Reporting to Newmont’s Boddington, Manager, Mobile Asset Management, in this permanent leadership position you will manage the maintenance and performance of heavy mobile equipment, drive efficiency and reliability, and ensure adherence to safety standards.
As part of our team you will
- Assess performance metrics for heavy mobile fleets to ensure availability and reliability
- Understand life cycle strategies for the effective handling of mobile assets
- Execute predictive maintenance technologies for enhanced diagnostics
- Coordinate with procurement teams to acquire cost-efficient spare parts
- Assess fleet Reliability data to inform best equipment performance
- Adhere to compliance with environmental standards, including emissions controls
- Facilitate teams on the application of advanced telematics systems
- Consolidate maintenance practices for fleet handling across operations
- Coordinate initiatives to implement automation tools for improved fleet performance
- Assess incidents related to heavy mobile equipment to diagnose and solve gaps in protocols.
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- Extensive knowledge of heavy mobile equipment (HME) including haul trucks AHS, ancillary fleet (dozers, graders, loaders, watercarts) and supporting systems in large-scale open pit mining operation
- Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, including capital planning, fleet replacement strategies and long-term asset optimisation
- Deep knowledge of maintenance methodologies, including preventative and corrective maintenance and predictive and condition-based monitoring (e.g., oil analysis)
- Understanding of autonomous haulage systems (AHS) and integration with maintenance and operational workflows
- Knowledge of OEM specifications, reliability engineering principles and failure analysis techniques
- Strong awareness of environmental compliance requirements, including, hydrocarbons management, and waste control standards
- Knowledge of safety systems and critical risk management, including JHAs, STPs, critical controls and incident investigation processes
- Ability to analyse and interpret fleet performance data (availability, utilisation, reliability) and translate insights into improvement initiatives
- Proficiency in Fleet Management Systems (FMS), ERP platforms (e.g., SAP/Mine star), and maintenance planning tools
- Application of advanced diagnostics and telematics systems for fault identification and optimisation of equipment performance
- Strong capability in maintenance planning and scheduling, including resource allocation and backlog management
- Ability to develop and implement technical standards, work instructions and maintenance strategies
- Skilled in root cause analysis (RCA), defect elimination, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience in cost management and budgeting, including monitoring unit costs, cost codes and capital expenditure
- Capability to evaluate and implement new technologies, automation, and digital tools to improve fleet performance
- Current WA Driver’s Licence and unrestricted Australian work rights.

This permanent site-based position at Boddington mine and will be offered on a drive in drive out basis working a roster of 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off. Mine accommodation will be provided.
