Your Impact
- To safely and efficiently operate a haul truck at Newmont in support of daily operational targets.
As Part of the Team You Will
Haul Truck Pre-Shift and On-Shift Activities
- Attend pre-shift meetings, receive instructions from the Shift Supervisor, confirm truck assignment and haul plan, and complete required pre-start checks before commencing work.
- Inspect the truck, cabin, and accessories, follow approved start-up procedures, and promptly report defects, malfunctions, incidents, spillages, or service needs to the Dispatcher or Supervisor.
- Follow truck assignments via the jigsaw panel, meet performance expectations, support peer development, and carry out other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Ore and Material Haulage
- Operate haul trucks safely and efficiently to transport ore and waste materials between loading and dumping points at the correct locations.
- Maximize production through correct positioning and controlled driving practices while ensuring all materials are hauled according to safety and routing requirements.
- Verify material accuracy, identify misroutes or discrepancies, and immediately alert the Dispatcher or Supervisor when issues arise.
Haul Truck Post-Shift Handover
- Provide clear handovers to incoming operators, including work status, hazards encountered, and any information needed to support safe and efficient continuation of operations.
Stakeholder Management and Engagement
- Maintain effective communication with the Dispatcher and other operators using approved communication systems to support coordinated and compliant shift operations.
Health and Safety Management
- Maintain a strong focus of safety throughout all activities.
- Follow all applicable safety policies, procedures, legislation, and site standards, and perform all work in a manner that prevents harm to people and damage to equipment.
- Inspect work areas for compliance with internal and regulatory requirements, including water management and dewatering standards and procedures.
- Maintain a strong safety focus by attending safety meetings and supporting colleagues during hauling activities to reinforce safe work practices.
- Inspect work areas and ensure all areas comply with internal Newmont and external regulatory standards.
- Adhere strictly to internal Newmont water management and dewatering standards.
Your Training, Skills and Experience Checklist
Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):
- Senior High School Certificate.
Additional Knowledge
- MINCOM Equipment Competency.
- License E.
- General understanding of mining operations.
- General knowledge in mid-to-heavy equipment operation.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 – 5 years’ experience working with Code E Vehicles in a mining and heavy industry environment.
- Experience in working within an active open pit mine is preferable.
Technical Skills
- Strong listening, concentration, and information-monitoring skills to support safe and efficient operations.
- Sound planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills, with the ability to solve problems effectively.
- Ability to operate a two-way radio and follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to read and understand operational documentation and interpret EMS/VIMS panel functions.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with peers and supervisors.

- Candidates in this talent pool may be considered for roles located in Ahafo North or Ahafo South.
