JOB TITLE: Commercial Business Analyst

PURPOSE OF POSITION

•

The Commercial Analyst within Data & Decision Science (DDS) will support the business through commercial analysis, reporting, customer insight generation and performance tracking across DDS and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) portfolios.

•

The role will focus on analysing operational and commercial data to support revenue growth, customer value delivery, contract performance monitoring and opportunity identification across existing and new customer engagements.

•

The individual will support DDS product managers, customer-facing teams and leadership through preparation of insights, commercial reporting and analytical outputs that enable informed decision-making.

•

The Commercial Analyst will also assist in translating technical data outputs into commercially meaningful insights for internal stakeholders and customers.

•

The individual will contribute toward DDS’ strategic intent of monetising data and supporting Gilbarco Veeder Roots growth through data-driven commercial decision making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Reporting & Analysis

•

Prepare recurring commercial performance reports across DDS customer portfolios

•

Analyse revenue performance, recurring revenue streams and project profitability

•

Monitor contract performance and identify commercial risks or opportunities

•

Assist with customer business case preparation and ROI analysis

•

Support proposal development through data-driven insight preparation

Customer Insights & Value Delivery

•

Translate technical and operational data into commercial insights

•

Support DDS teams in preparing customer presentations and insight reporting

•

Assist in identifying trends, anomalies or opportunities within customer operational data

•

Support customer review meetings through preparation of analytical packs

Data & Reporting Support

•

Develop and maintain reporting dashboards using Power BI or Excel

•

Support automation of recurring reports where applicable

•

Assist with data validation and quality assurance processes

•

Compile monthly and quarterly DDS reporting packs

Business Support

•

Support DDS leadership with strategic reporting requirements

•

Assist Product Managers with opportunity tracking and pipeline reporting

•

Maintain customer and opportunity tracking registers

•

Support cross-functional collaboration between DDS, Projects and Commercial teams

Governance & Continuous Improvement

•

Ensure reporting accuracy and adherence to DDS governance standards.

•

Maintain documentation of reports and commercial analysis outputs.

•

Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and processes.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Education/achievements

• Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 (Matric) — Essential
• Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, Office Administration, Data Management, or similar — Advantageous but not essential

Experience/Knowledge

• 0–2 years administrative, data capturing, or junior analyst experience
• Experience working with Excel or reporting templates preferred
• Exposure to operational or customer support environments advantageous

• Basic Microsoft Excel skills (data entry, sorting, filtering) •
