Job Description

Our Public Affairs and Communications team is looking for a talented Administrative Assistant to support the Chief Communications Officer and broader Public Affairs and Communications team. This role regularly exercises judgment and discretion in the execution of responsibilities that include calendar management, travel planning, event coordination and experience handling confidential information.

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Communication Officer and assist in the following department areas: Business Line Communications, Enterprise Communications (Internal and External), Government Relations and Issues Management. The ideal candidate will assist in relieving the executive of administrative detail, assist with meeting agendas and off/onsite events.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Provides administrative support to the Chief Communications Officer and the Public Affairs and Communications department.
  • Coordinates meetings, conferences and travel arrangements.
  • Assists in creating presentations.
  • Frequently uses personal computer software packages for word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Assists with invoice processing and tracking.
  • Conducts special projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five to eight years of experience in administrative and support staff activities.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Strong reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks / projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience working with confidential information.
  • Advanced administrative, secretarial, and clerical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and grammatical skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, with focus on Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Bank systems.
