Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our legal team in all phases of the litigation process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Green Lane, PA 18054 (5 days on site)
Duration: 1+ month contract
Pay: $40 an hour
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, including pre-trial preparation, trial, and post-trial.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery requests/responses.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings.
- Organize and maintain case files, documents, and evidence.
- Manage and review discovery documents, including e-discovery.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings.
- Prepare trial binders and exhibits.
- File documents with state and federal courts (both electronically and in person).
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field.
- Paralegal certification preferred (e.g., NALA, NFPA).
- Minimum of [2-5] years of litigation experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Strong knowledge of court rules and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Relativity, Clio, TrialDirector).
- Familiarity with e-filing systems and document management platforms.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
