Lead Emergency Critical Care Registered Veterinary Nurse
Location: Southfields Veterinary Specialists
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours/week
Salary: From £34,000, depending on experience
We are a multi-disciplinary, RCVS accredited Specialist lead referral centre within the county of Essex, where we work to the highest standards of veterinary care for pets, creating a seamless experience for them and their owners. This is a unique opportunity to join Southfields Veterinary Specialists and help us build and lead the team that will deliver emergency, critical and intensive care in our brand-new centre.
Southfields Veterinary Specialists have now moved in our brand new 42,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art facilities, and you will be part of a team that has been provided with some of the most advanced equipment and facilities in a supportive working environment.
Your role and responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for a clinically experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVN) to support and lead a team of highly skilled Registered Veterinary Nurses in our newly established ICU.
This is an exciting full-time role and will ensure the candidate is an integral part of planning as we prepare to open our new state-of-the-art ICU department.
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Client and Care (ECC) RVN to work with the leadership teams to build the infrastructure, recruit supporting teams and develop operating processes within the ICU and wider teams that will support our patients and colleagues across all our services 24 hours a day.
The role involves
- You will be committed to developing the centre and providing high standards of care to both our patients and referring veterinary surgeons
- You will join an excellent multi-disciplinary specialist-led team that provides the opportunity to work with some of the most exceptional and dedicated veterinary professionals in a supportive environment
- You will work as part of the senior and nursing team to coordinate and deliver gold standard patient care alongside our specialist-led emergency and critical care team
- Your duties will include the creation and management of departmental rotas to ensure the provision of nursing care and department preparation to accommodate an increasing caseload.
- You will liaise with all disciplines to facilitate the effective management and coordination of critical cases. Your excellent clinical skills will allow you to participate in day-to-day nursing duties
- As a member of the senior nurse team, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and the continual enhancement of our commitment to excellence
- You will report directly to the Head of Nursing Services and support the wider senior nursing team as our services, team, facilities, and equipment continue to enhance and grow.
