We are seeking an Automation & Low-Voltage Networks Project Manager to lead the delivery of automation and low-voltage systems on a large-scale industrial project in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The role is focused on end-to-end project execution, covering engineering coordination, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover, while ensuring alignment with safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage all automation and low-voltage networks activities throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee engineering, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of automation and low-voltage systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for the assigned scope.
  • Ensure project objectives are met in terms of safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Identify project risks, define mitigation measures, and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Coordinate the development and review of design documentation, technical specifications, calculations, drawings, and engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, client standards, local regulations, and international engineering practices.
  • Manage design interfaces between automation, electrical, mechanical, civil, utilities, and production equipment disciplines.
  • Review and approve technical solutions proposed by designers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Support preparation of technical scopes of work, tender documentation, and contractor evaluation activities.
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations and supplier selection processes.
  • Coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely manufacturing, delivery, and installation of equipment.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate site installation works related to automation and low-voltage systems.
  • Monitor construction progress and proactively resolve technical, commercial, or schedule issues.
  • Ensure installation works follow approved designs, specifications, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate interfaces and work sequencing with other disciplines to support efficient execution.
  • Ensure compliance with quality requirements, applicable standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Organize and participate in inspections, audits, testing, and quality reviews.
  • Coordinate FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Ensure completion of punch lists, testing records, and handover documentation.
  • Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across all activities.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, company policies, and local legislation.
  • Participate in safety inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain effective communication with the client, project team, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Prepare progress reports, risk assessments, forecasts, and management presentations.
  • Escalate critical issues and propose solutions to support project decision-making.
  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, and support to the automation and low-voltage project team.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance working environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Instrumentation and Control, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five years of experience managing automation and low-voltage systems on large industrial or manufacturing projects.
  • Proven experience across engineering, construction, and commissioning phases of industrial facilities.
  • Strong understanding of automation architectures, industrial communication protocols, and low-voltage systems.
  • Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Familiarity with international engineering standards and Kazakhstan construction regulations.
  • English language proficiency at B2 level or higher; Russian language skills are an advantage.
  • Project management certification such as PMP, IPMA, PRINCE2, or equivalent is considered an advantage.
  • Initial one-year contract with the possibility of extension, including a three-month probation period.
  • Full-time work from the project site office with independent commuting capability.
  • Planned start date of 22 June 2026 or earlier.
  • Direct reporting line to the Overall Project Manager, working alongside managers from other disciplines and the mechanical systems site supervisor.
