Role Overview

As a Junior Art Director, you will play a crucial role in the creative team, working closely with senior art directors and copywriters to develop visually compelling and innovative designs. You will be responsible for leading smaller projects and supporting larger campaigns, ensuring that all visual elements align with the brand’s identity and objectives. This role is ideal for someone with a strong design background and a desire to take on more responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior art directors and copywriters to develop creative concepts and campaigns.
  • Lead the design and execution of smaller projects, ensuring high-quality visual output.
  • Create visual designs for digital, print, and social media platforms.
  • Assist in the creation of presentations and pitch materials.
  • Conduct research to understand the target audience, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Edit and proofread creative materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, providing feedback and support.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the quality of work.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Take part in the agency’s culture and self-promotion initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a graphic designer or in a similar role within an advertising agency.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign - Canva/Figma are a plus).
  • Basic proficiency in editing and motion graphics software.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to generate original ideas.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field is preferred.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative work.
