Electrician – Smart Cabinetry
We are seeking an experienced Electrician to join our Maintenance Dept. in our New Paris, IN location. Summary/Objective: We are looking for a hardworking, dedicated, committed individual who takes pride in their work. This position exists to install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures while ensuring work is in accordance with relevant codes. The position is responsible for preventive maintenance, special projects and emergency repairs.
Essential Functions
- Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, machinery, apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform maintenance and repair of CNC machines and wood working machines.
- Trouble shoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and electronic components. Performs start up procedures and trouble shoots equipment.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes advising management of hazards to continued operation.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices (ohmmeters, voltmeters and amp meter) to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
- Read, understand and follow blueprints.
Required Experience / Knowledge
- Knowledge and experience troubleshooting equipment with automatic tool changes and tool management.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance.
- 5+ years of electrical experience (PLCs, PCs, ladder logic, transformers, control circuits).
- Knowledge and/or experience with computers and CNC programming is a plus.
- 5+ years of CNC machining equipment preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and making repairs.
- Demonstrates proper Lockout/Tagout procedures and follows all safety policies and regulations.
- Proficient in single phase/3 phase industrial electrical.
Necessary Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of electrical and facilities repair and maintenance.
- Maintains equipment in accordance with the manufacturers and Smart requirements & schedules.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment.
- Self-motivated and disciplined to conduct self in a professional and courteous manner.
Work Requirements
- This position may require working in extremes in temperature & environment while performing moderately physical activity.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 65 pounds.
- Requires ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions along with ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
- This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours & days worked (including Saturdays, as needed).
