Job description

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and analyse technical designs in line with business requirements
  • Produce high-level and detailed estimates for governance gateway documents
  • Create functional design specifications and/or user stories
  • Code new developments and enhancements in line with standards
  • Review code quality and outputs within the project
  • Participate in peer code reviews
  • Support integration testing, system testing, and test automation where required
  • Support applications in system test environments
  • Share knowledge with and support development of junior team members
  • Coordinate tasks for junior team members
  • Work with intermediate-level team members in delivery activities
  • Contribute to planning and coordination of system testing and live releases
  • Support project managers in project activities
  • Contribute to governance and status reports
  • Support identification of resource requirements for projects or sub-teams
  • Assist with tracking project progress and reporting variances
  • Contribute to identification and reporting of technical risks
  • Coordinate issues and risks affecting the project or team
  • Support investigation and prioritisation of live incidents
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and suggest improvements or fixes
  • Organise live incident tickets and bug tracking
  • Monitor and coordinate live issues across systems
  • Work with development and Continuous Service Improvement teams to support fixes
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement activities

Essential requirements

  • Experience with Java and Spring
  • Experience contributing to technical design and development activities
  • Experience with testing approaches including unit, integration, and system testing
  • Experience working within project teams and collaborative environments
