The successful candidate:
Hours: PRN (as needed); must be able to work 1–2 days per week during day shift hours
Job Summary
Performs all tasks related to the EHR admission/discharge process of outpatient and inpatient visits. Performs accurate patient demographic and insurance information collection and verification at each registration. Additional duties include generating registration visits for multiple patient types, including surgical, physician office visits, and patient transfers; managing both the registration hotline on a 24/7 basis and the hospitalist hotline; accepting patient payments and issuing receipts; providing patient information; completing required forms; and scanning documents daily.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience:
Customer service experience required
Minimum of 1+ year of experience in a healthcare setting
Preferred Experience:
Hospital registration and/or insurance experience preferred
Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and analytical ability
Ability to exercise sound judgment, follow direction, and maintain accuracy
Professional telephone etiquette and strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and maintain good attendance
Software:
General proficiency with typing/keyboarding and PC skills
Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferred
