Job description

Overview

Sprout is a global IT hardware retirement provider for hyperscaler and enterprise clients. We leverage a nationwide footprint (and international partner network) combined with proprietary software to enable efficient end-to-end IT asset disposition (ITAD) with a focus on data bearing devices from the client to the cloud. The company is headquartered in Charlotte, NC with additional operations near Sacramento, Dallas, and Boston. Sprout provides software and services to clients in the form of our IT Asset Disposition, Certified Destruction, and Responsible Recycling solutions.

Since our founding as an electronic waste startup from a Duke University dorm room in 2014, we have been expanding at an average rate of >66% each year. By adhering to our 3 values (One Sprout, Deliver Excellence, and Integrity Matters), we are proud of our culture to move at #SproutSpeed to become the emerging leader in our industry. For more information, please visit: www.sproutup.com .

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering data center installation and decommission projects on behalf of Sprout's clients. Working within the Service Delivery department, the TPM serves as the primary point of contact between clients, field technicians, and internal stakeholders, ensuring every engagement is executed safely, on schedule, and to the technical standard expected of Sprout. This is a client-facing, technically grounded role that demands equal competence in structured project management methodology and hands-on knowledge of data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings a track record of managing complex, multi-site technology deployments and thrives in a fastpaced, field-driven environment.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource assignments using MS Project or equivalent tooling.
  • Coordinate site surveys, equipment staging, logistics, and on-site field crews to ensure seamless execution.
  • Track project milestones, flag risks proactively, and drive corrective actions to keep engagements on track.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout each project, providing regular status updates, written reports, and executive summaries.
  • Facilitate kick-off meetings, technical reviews, and post-project wash-up sessions with clients and internal teams.

  • Liaise with client IT teams on network, access, and safety requirements prior to and during site works.

Team Coordination

  • Schedule and brief field technicians, coordinators, and subcontractors ahead of each deployment or decommissioning.
