Department Summary
Housed under the newly developed University Consortium of Schools (previously PreK-12), the UCLA Lab School is an innovative school for children ages 4-12 and a laboratory for teachers and researchers in the School of Education and Information Studies (SE&IS) at UCLA. Position Summary
Our school psychologists are uniquely qualified members of our Lab School team who support students' learning and teachers' instructional effectiveness. Drawing on expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, they help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School psychologists collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and community providers to foster safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environments. They provide direct services and interventions to students, consult with educators and families, contribute to school-wide practices and policies, and coordinate resources to ensure students receive the support they need to thrive.
Salary & Compensation
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. - Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. (Required)
- Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences. (Required)
- Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance. (Required)
- Abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills. (Required)
- Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems. (Required) Special Conditions for Employment
