Job description

Egypt Education Platform is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of English Department to lead and inspire our English faculty at Madinaty Language School - MLS . This leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the English curriculum, promote high standards of teaching, and foster a culture of academic excellence and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and motivate the English department team to ensure outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and review the English curriculum in alignment with school policies and educational standards.
  • Monitor student progress and achievement across all Key Stages within the English department, and implement strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to teaching staff within the department.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated educational experience.
  • Manage departmental resources effectively, including budgeting and procurement.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and student engagement.
  • Lead departmental meetings and contribute to whole school initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Significant teaching experience in English.
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably as a Head of Department or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment practices, and educational standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire, mentor, and develop teaching staff to achieve high performance.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and educational innovation.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and student welfare policies.
