Job description

Jahnel Group’s mission is to provide the absolute best environment for software creators to pursue their passion by connecting them with great clients doing meaningful work. We get to build some of the most complex and compelling applications for our clients located across the country.

We’re a fast-growing INC 5000 recognized company, yet we still work as a very close-knit team (100+ employees). We’re growing like crazy, and if you’re looking for the next place to call home, hit us up for a beer or coffee.

Who We're Looking For

We’re seeking a Lead Engineer / Architect to support a major migration effort. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with deep expertise in Kubernetes and Azure. You will guide the migration of complex systems to cloud-native environments, set architectural standards, and help the engineering teams deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

This is not a DevOps-only role. We need a technically strong engineer who can lead architecture decisions, contribute to coding when necessary, and collaborate across backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure teams.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-ownership environments, enjoys solving migration challenges, and can balance hands-on work with strategic architectural guidance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the overall system architecture and technical roadmap
  • Design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native solutions in Azure
  • Architect and develop backend services using Go
  • Lead technical discussions and provide guidance on system design and engineering best practices
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives
  • Review architecture, code, and infrastructure decisions to ensure long-term maintainability
  • Mentor engineers and help elevate technical capabilities across teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security
  • Support delivery teams in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical challenges

Some Must-Haves:

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proven experience as a Software Architect, Lead Engineer, or Principal Engineer
  • Strong expertise with Go (Golang) development
  • Deep experience designing and operating systems in Microsoft Azure
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native architectures
  • Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams or projects
  • Strong system design, architecture, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems
  • Background in high-scale or mission-critical systems
  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering standards across organizations

Where We're Looking For It:

Brazil
Open to 100% Fully Remote

Other Information

The work hours will be approximately 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, depending on workload, with the occasional late night when a tight deadline calls for it. We work for security-conscious clients, thus background checks will be required.

Position available immediately.
