Expected pay for this position is $18.27 - $20.29/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Surgery Support Specialist II helps ensure that the surgical environment runs smoothly, and that patients receive appropriate care before and after surgery. This role focuses on effective coordination between the surgical team and the patients' families. Surgery Support Specialist II transports patients and assists with patient care and clerical functions to create a supportive atmosphere for patients and their families and to ensure well-coordinated patient flow.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School Diploma/GED

Licensure/ Certification

  • BLS by the American Heart Association within first month of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Six or more months of experience in assisting an individual(s) in activities of daily living; this includes but is not limited to: personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, and eating.

Other Skills/ Knowledge

  • Work requires basic understanding of communication equipment such as pages, phones, overhead paging system, and documenting in hospital Electronic Medical Record.
