Job description

Are you experienced in structured cabling, fibre testing, and quality assurance within mission-critical environments? We are looking for a Data Center Cabling QA/QC Technician to support a high-profile data center project.

  • Port-to-Port Validation -
  • Physically trace and verify each comms path from source port to destination port within the assigned zone;
  • Confirm physical port labelling matches build documentation at both ends;
  • Test all fibre links for polarity (MPO/MTP Tx to Rx alignment), insertion loss within specification, and physical continuity;
  • Test copper paths (if present) for continuity, wiremap, length, and insertion loss per TIA-568 Cat6A or equivalent
  • Fault Identification & Logging -
  • Log all faults against port ID — categories include: mispatch, polarity reversal, high insertion loss, physical damage, missing or incorrect labelling;
  • Photograph fault evidence per QA requirements
  • Rectification -
  • In-pair rectification: re-patching, label correction, connector re-seat, polarity swap at patch panel — re-test immediately after;
  • Escalated rectification (re-termination, trunk replacement, re-route): flag to shift lead and site supervisor — do not proceed without sign-off

  • Familiar with 400G/800G fibre AI infrastructure — GPU rack connectivity, switch fabric
  • Able to read patch schedules, rack elevation drawings, and port labelling conventions
  • Capable of autonomous pair operation with field decision-making authority
  • Data centre safety induction compliant — enclosed spaces, live adjacency, ESD awareness
  • Able to carry out night shift duties
