Job description
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area; greet and welcome clients and patients; answer questions and triage client concerns; respond to calls and emails and direct them to the appropriate party for resolution; schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow; check clients in and out; and process payments. Our receptionists provide friendly, compassionate, and discreet support to clients during difficult times and must be comfortable with a variety of medical outcomes.
This position will also be cross-trained as a Veterinary Assistant, providing opportunities to support the medical team with patient care, restraint, treatment assistance, and other clinical responsibilities as needed. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in expanding their skills and gaining hands-on experience in veterinary medicine.
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases.
We’re looking for:
- Experienced Receptionist with a minimum of 1 year of veterinary experience preferred
- Interest in being cross-trained as a Veterinary Assistant and supporting both client service and patient care responsibilities
- Compassionate, calm, team-oriented professional with strong multitasking and communication skills
- Highly organized with solid computer and administrative skills
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and a desire to continually grow, learn, and advance your knowledge and skill set
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional client and patient care
- Passion for veterinary medicine and a commitment to providing an outstanding experience for clients, patients, and team members alike
Pay Range: $18- $22 per hour depending on experience
