Working as part of our service centre operations and reporting to our Warehouse Team Leader, you will play a key role in supervising warehouse staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting order fulfilment, ensuring compliance with safety requirements and helping to drive continuous improvement across the warehouse environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily activities of warehouse staff, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with operational requirements.
  • Allocate and coordinate tasks across the warehouse team, including picking, packing, stock control, shipping, goods movement and general warehouse duties.
  • Support, train and guide warehouse employees to ensure procedures, safety standards, equipment usage and working practices are understood and followed.
  • Monitor workload, priorities and daily operational requirements to ensure deadlines and service expectations are met.
  • Support inventory control by ensuring stock levels are accurate and items are correctly recorded within the warehouse management system.
  • Oversee and assist with stock counts, cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate warehouse records.
  • Supervise the order-picking process, ensuring items are picked accurately, efficiently and in line with customer, project or operational specifications.
  • Oversee packing activities to ensure items are packed securely, correctly and appropriately for dispatch.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control across warehouse processes, including goods handling, storage, picking, packing and shipping.
  • Ensure the availability, control and condition of required tooling and equipment to meet service centre and project demands.
  • Enforce warehouse safety regulations and procedures to reduce the risk of accidents, injuries and operational hazards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and well-structured warehouse environment that supports safe and efficient working.
  • Identify and resolve day-to-day warehouse issues quickly and practically to minimise disruption.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, management and other departments to support smooth coordination across the Leeds Service Centre.
  • Support operational planning to ensure resources, stock, tooling and equipment are aligned with business needs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activity, identifying ways to improve warehouse efficiency, accuracy, safety and overall performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant internal procedures, health and safety standards and COSHH regulations.
  • Previous warehouse experience, warehouse-related training, or an equivalent combination of education, training and practical experience.
  • Experience supervising, coordinating or leading warehouse staff would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, guide and support others.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to keep warehouse operations running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in relation to stock accuracy, order fulfilment, quality control and record keeping.
  • Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues quickly and implement practical solutions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work confidently with colleagues, managers and wider business teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload and meet operational deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of warehouse management systems, stock control processes and barcoding technologies.
  • Computer literate and fully conversant with common office software packages, including Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical tooling.
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
  • Physically able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and support practical warehouse activities where required.
  • Forklift truck licence, including Counterbalance and Reach Truck or Reach Stacker, would be preferred
