Job description

We are seeking an individual to lead our external reporting function. The director, external reporting will own the processes for our filing of Forms 10-Q and 10-K with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), will support the filing of our Proxy statements and other periodic filings with the SEC and will support the quarterly earnings release process. This person will be an expert in US GAAP, SEC Regulations and SOX requirements relating to public reporting. The director, external reporting, will be a leader in our company providing cross-functional teams guidance and counseling on matters relating to public reporting. This individual will be the primary contact for our internal and external auditors in relation to public reporting matters. The director, external reporting will report to our corporate controller.

Responsibilities:

SEC & External Reporting

  • Lead the preparation, review, and filing of all SEC reports, including Forms 10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K, proxy statements, registration statements, and XBRL tagging.
  • Oversee the preparation of earnings releases, investor presentation materials, and other externally‑distributed financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC disclosure requirements (Reg S‑X, Reg S‑K) and evolving SEC rules.
  • Monitor and implement new accounting standards (ASUs) and disclosure requirements, including assessing financial and disclosure impacts.

Technical Accounting & Disclosure

  • Collaborate with our technical accounting team in driving accounting conclusions on complex matters.
  • Ensure financial statement disclosures are in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Draft and review financial statement footnotes, MD&A, and critical accounting policies.

SOX & Controls

  • Own and maintain disclosure controls and procedures related to external reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal audit and external auditors on SOX compliance related to SEC reporting.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.

Cross‑Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with accounting, FP&A, legal, treasury, tax, investor relations, and internal audit.
  • Manage the SEC reporting calendar and coordinate deliverables across global teams.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and outside counsel on reporting matters.

Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor SEC reporting staff and/or consultants.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, systems enhancements, and best‑practice documentation.

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in SEC reporting, technical accounting, or financial reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, XBRL, and SOX.
  • Prior experience at a public company and/or Big 4 public accounting firm.
  • Proven ability to manage complex deadlines and deliver high‑quality results under tight timelines.

Preferred

  • Experience with multinational or complex organizational structures.
  • Familiarity with ERP, EPM and SEC reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Workiva, CCH Tagetik).
  • Experience supporting IPOs, registrations, debt offerings, or other capital markets transactions.

This position is also eligible to participate in Solidigm's restricted stock unit (RSU), restricted cash unit (RCU), and cash bonus programs. The compensation range for this role is $159,520 - $255,300. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
