Job Description:
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you’ll put your skills into action by partnering directly with customers to keep their operations running at peak performance. You’ll troubleshoot and oversee repairs on a wide range of Caterpillar gas and diesel engines out in the field, leveraging your technical knowledge to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on. Your work will include:
Field diagnosis and running repairs
Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs (possibility of remote locations)
Interface with customers, products and sales support
Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
Various related duties as required
Specific Skills & Experience:
Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician
Valid class 5 driver's license with a successful drivers abstract required for field positions
Dedication to safety
Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
Power generation experience would be considered an asset
Important Details:
This is a position based out of our Cranbrook, BC branch on a 7x7 continuous shift
A condition of employment may be the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (may include Drug & Alcohol, and Fitness testing)
Some of Finning’s customers are situated in remote locations
