Job Description
Experience
- 5 years of experience as a registered dietitian in a clinical setting, with minimum of 3 years in pediatric nutrition OR
- Master’s degree in nutrition plus 3 years of experience as a registered dietitian in a clinical setting
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP)
- Working knowledge of current trends in performance improvement, revenue enhancement, computerization trends, and Joint Commission requirements
- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership
Education
- Bachelor of Science in nutrition or dietetics
Certification Summary
- Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Georgia licensed dietitian

- Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Job Responsibilities
- Assists Manager, Clinical Nutrition in overseeing implementation of clinical nutrition care based upon medical directions and patient population.
- Assists with development, management, maintenance, and progress of clinical nutrition goals and ensures clinical nutrition standards are implemented in the hospital.
- Conducts departmental orientation, training, and competency documentation of clinical nutrition staff.
- Hires, leads, trains, evaluates, and coaches staff as needed.
- Monitors competency, productivity, and documentation accuracy of clinical staff, utilizing necessary tools and resources.
- Assists with development, management, monitoring, and reporting of quality initiatives.
- Assists with development and revision of appropriate manuals and policies and procedures and maintains appropriate clinical functions to meet patient needs and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Participates actively on various hospital committees.
- Performs related responsibilities and provide direct patient care as a dietitian as needed.
- Assists supervisor and/or manager with development of staff by being available to teammates, acting as a resource to help complete complicated/complex tasks, providing on the job training to team, and seeking out opportunities to become actively involved in staff workflow and development.
- Provides supervisor and/or manager feedback on staff performance, educational needs, and workflow status.
- Oversees daily operations of the Nutrition Lab and/or dietitian teams.
