We invite you to bring your competence as a senior professional in engineering, who have led a design team and has the capability to lead projects involving multi-disciplinary design teams in Transportation market.
Team Lead, Roads & Highways, REC is the key to being able to coordinate and deliver projects. It includes the coordination of interfaces and information flows between external and internal stakeholders, to deliver an integrated design solution. Team Lead shall collaborate with Head of Department and PMs of respective disciplines and be primarily involved in securing projects for REC, delivering the scheduled tasks in the form of design and drawings. A Team Leader’s role includes leading a team of designers and technicians, guiding
them on various design and design software know how, evaluate their performance and training needs, be a mentor for their growth within the team. He/she is expected to be a good team player within the Roads & Highways Dept. and collaborate with peers to utilize the team resource based on needs and skills.
You should have strong knowledge and experience in Roads/Highways design and knowledge in Civil 3D, OpenRoads (desirable), AutoCAD as you will be responsible for providing engineering and drafting support to technically challenging projects. You would create 2D drawings and 3D models and shall be responsible for the technical quality of your own work and would focus on compliance with project objectives and quality standards.

As our new Team Lead, Roads & Highways, you will be part of a world-class, innovation driven engineering design center owned by an independent trust and its employees. REC is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence and based in our India head office in Gurgaon. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a center for excellence in design by offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Sound Knowledge of Geometric Design of Roads, 3D Modelling etc.
- Good communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently and professionally with a diverse range of people.
- Managing a team of Engineers and Modelers
- Focused on Delivering, Quality and Results, Applying, Understanding,
- Proven ability to work collectively within a team environment.
- Software driven person who loves to explore new commands and invest time in development of new tools.
- BIM competence especially a good command on either Navisworks/ Infraworks is added advantage.
- Knowledge and Expertise, Analyzing, Learning and discovering, Documenting and reporting
- Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
- Preferably have an exposure to the projects in Nordic/UK region.

- BE/B. Tech degree in Civil Engineering from an institute of repute, with desirable M. Tech in relevant specialization.
- Experience required 10 to 15 Years.
- 3 years’ experience working on European and/or North American projects in Roads and highways discipline.
- Knowledge of design codes like VGU/Euro Code/DMRB/AASHTO/any other international standards would be desirable.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of principles of roads design, and strong design and analysis experience.
- Advanced skills in Civil 3D software is a must. Knowledge of Openroads is added advantage.
- Knowledge of other related software like AutoTURN/AutoTrack/Vehicle Tracking/Pathplanner etc. would be desirable.
- Should have knowledge of tools like AutoCAD and preparing drawings in accordance with internationally recognized
- standard formats. Knowledge of Microstation is added advantage.
- In addition to technical / functional acumen, he should have good communication skills and should be able to present their work.
- Professional English language skills (written and verbal).
- Should be a good team member and should coordinate with other team members and the project manager for timely delivery of project.
- Skill of preparing project work plans, including resourcing, budgets and schedules is desirable
Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: Flexible attitude, in an environment with frequently changing deadlines can be relied on to meet deadlines, committed to both their work and personal development, with a willingness to widen their experience knowledge of Microsoft applications, good level of written and spoken English.
- Qualification: B.E / B. Tech Civil / M. Tech / M.E.
- Mandatory Skills required: Civil 3D (2D and 3D), AutoCAD, Road Design and Codal standards
- Desired Skills: OpenRoads, MicroStation (Bentley software)
- Experience: 10-15 years
- 3 years’ experience on Nordic Projects preferred
- 2-3 years’ of management/leadership role is desirable
