General Product Leader - US Speciality Programs, Speciality Portfolio Solutions At Beazley Management Limited, we're seeking a committed and driven Product Leader to become part of our Specialty Portfolio Solutions team in London, UK. This position provides an excellent opportunity to guide and grow our Professional, Allied Medical, and Cyber delegated programs within the US Specialty Programs Focus Group. Key Responsibilities Product Leader Lead the Pro US Specialty Programs team, backing the overall US Specialty Programs business plan and underwriting. Coordinate direct reporting underwriters and indirect reports, ensuring team growth and development. Develop and implement business strategies in collaboration with the US Specialty Programs Focus Group Leader. Plan, direct, and coordinate the team to achieve business objectives and target profitability. Track the portfolio and apply necessary changes to guarantee sustained profitability. Ensure compliance with all relevant company, regulatory, and legal standards. Travel for key conferences and client visits as needed. Provide active oversight of all Pro US Specialty Programs underwriting and related functions. Underwriting Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of Professional, Miscellaneous Medical, and Cyber business within the Specialty Portfolio Solutions Team. Structure tailor-made solutions to win new business and retain existing clients. Track premiums, expenses, and claims ratios, implementing adjustments to maintain profitability. Assess suitable risk premium by taking various factors into account to guarantee profitability. Ensure compliance with Beazley’s underwriting control standards. Develop strong working relationships with claims managers. Client Management Provide outstanding service to clients on insurance and risk matters. Foster positive relationships with clients to understand their needs and Beazley’s offerings. Develop and maintain trading relationships with new and existing Coverholders. Maintain excellent business relationships with brokers. Promote the Beazley product range and introduce other products to clients when opportunities arise. Team Leadership Provide leadership, direction, and support to the team. Foster a spirit of inclusion, teamwork, and unity that reflects Beazley’s workplace culture. Act as a manager, mentor, and coach to direct reports, ensuring continuous development. Provide effective performance feedback and address poor performance as appropriate. Maintain transparent and effective communication within the department. Encourage knowledge sharing and effective delegation to minimize key person dependencies. Ensure team resources are effectively applied and people are appropriately challenged. Encourage direct reports to think proactively about their careers and development opportunities. General Leverage networking opportunities to develop standardized underwriting policy and guidelines. Collaborate with peers within Specialty Treaty and Business Portfolio Solutions to enhance business opportunities. Share knowledge within the Beazley Group to guarantee alignment with guidelines and profitability. Produce presentations and marketing literature as required. Develop business plans and research documents for the US Specialty Programs account as needed. Personal Specification Skills and Abilities Proficient underwriting skills with strong analytical abilities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong leadership and motivational skills. Advanced computer skills, particularly with MS Office and Excel. Knowledge and Experience Extensive experience in the insurance industry and casualty underwriting. Detailed knowledge of underwriting policies, processes, and systems. Client service experience with a strong ethic of service and fairness. Competence and Disposition Result-focused, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
