Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Workers’ Compensation Analyst II to join the Claims Team in a dynamic and growing company. This role supports the management of workers’ compensation claims across the full lifecycle—from initial report of injury through resolution, including coordination on litigated matters when applicable.
The Analyst II serves as a key liaison between injured Team Members, internal stakeholders, and third‑party administrators (TPAs), ensuring claims are handled efficiently, compliantly, and with a focus on timely resolution, cost containment, and positive Team Member outcomes. The role requires multi‑jurisdictional awareness and the ability to leverage data and tools to enhance claim performance.
Position reports into our Store Support Office in Phoenix, AZ. Hybrid schedule, in office Tuesday-Thursday. #LI-MS1
Overview of Responsibilities
- Support the end‑to‑end lifecycle of workers’ compensation claims, including investigation support, compensability analysis, medical and indemnity monitoring, coordination on litigated claims, and claim closure
- Partner closely with TPAs and adjusters to support claim strategy, timely handling, appropriate reserving, and effective resolution; escalate issues as needed
- Review claim activity and recommend claim closures, reserve changes, and settlements in accordance with delegated authority and escalation guidelines
- Serve as a primary point of contact for injured Team Members, providing clear communication regarding benefits, recovery expectations, and stay-at‑work processes
- Act as a liaison across internal and external stakeholders including Operations, HR, Safety, Legal, Risk Management, Leave of Absence, TPAs, insurance brokers, medical providers, and outside counsel
- Coordinate with legal counsel on litigated claims by tracking status, summarizing exposure, and supporting documentation and reporting needs
- Maintain accurate records and reporting to support compliance with applicable state and federal regulations across multiple jurisdictions
- Analyze claim data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve outcomes, duration, and cost
- Prepare regular reporting and summaries on claim performance, trends, and observations
- Support stay‑at‑work efforts by coordinating transitional duty options with internal partners
- Participate in audits to support quality claim handling and adherence to internal standards and best practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement of claims processes, procedures, and program effectiveness
- Utilize claims management systems and reporting tools; apply automation or advanced analytics where appropriate to improve efficiency and decision‑making
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 2–4 years of experience in workers’ compensation, claims analysis, or a related field
- Working knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and practices across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support actionable recommendations
- Experience working with TPAs and collaborating to influence timely and quality claim handling
- Proficiency in claims management systems and reporting tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Demonstrates empathy, sound judgment, and the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels
- Professional certification (e.g., CWCP) a plus
