As a Senior Solution Architect – Manufacturing IT, you will drive the modernization and standardization of our manufacturing application landscape.

You will act as a senior technical authority for manufacturing IT solutions, combining hands-on solution architecture with strategic architecture initiatives across the manufacturing domain.

You will join a dedicated group of Solution, Software, and Technical Architects, offering a strong peer network for professional exchange and personal growth.

 

Job Description

Modernize & Transform

Drive the modernization and replacement of applications and infrastructure across the manufacturing domain to improve scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency.

Set the Standard

Define, establish, and evolve architectural standards, technology standards, frameworks, and best practices for the manufacturing IT landscape.

Mentor & Lead

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to manufacturing IT teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

Align & Clarify

Collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into clear, scalable, and actionable solution designs.

Ensure Excellence

Contribute to operational excellence by designing highly available, resilient, and reliable systems and integrations.

Document & Communicate

Maintain clear and comprehensive architecture documentation to ensure transparency, consistency, and effective knowledge sharing across teams.

Design & Integrate

Architect scalable and secure integration patterns between manufacturing IT systems and connected OT environments.

Core Requirements

• A university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• 5+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Software Architecture, or a similar role, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex IT solutions, preferably within the manufacturing domain.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, production principles, and IT/OT convergence challenges, with expertise primarily focused on the IT layer and strong collaboration capabilities with OT systems and teams.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Strong software engineering background with hands-on experience in modern application design, CI/CD practices, database design, application hosting platforms (e.g., Kubernetes), and networking concepts.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern architectural patterns.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and concepts like Industry 4.0, MES, MOM, and SCADA.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and modernization initiatives.
