The Resilient Connectivity Products (RCP) digital hardware team is seeking a determined and passionate Senior Electrical Engineer with emphasis in digital, mixed-signal, and high-speed processing designs that will be responsible for developing technical solutions for a wide range of projects and products that cover the entire product life cycle, including proposal, requirements capture, design, manufacture support, integration and test and validation. We are looking for candidates willing to collaborate, innovate, and team with multiple stakeholders. The candidate will be supported by strong mentorship, but will oftentimes work with minimal supervision while exercising a strong sense of urgency and their own latitude in determining the technical objectives of the assignment.

What YOU Will Do

Design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or circuit card assemblies (CCAs)

Circuit card design includes hardware designs with processors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces, such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART.

Requirements capture management and verification for small to medium electronic packaging circuit cards.

Prepare and present project technical information to peers and internal/external customers

Identifies and addresses project & factory problems (Root Cause) and recommends resolutions (Corrective Actions) to ensure the successful completion and On-Time Delivery

Schematic Capture and Printer Wiring Board layout design experience

Facilitates project tasks between cross-functional integrated product teams to ensure alignment with overall project objectives and team collaboration

Experience as a technical lead and/or project lead of a team in the design, test, analysis, integration, qualification, and documentation of hardware of high complexity.

Qualifications You Must Have

Experience using Mentor Graphics Design Creation (Siemens EDA) tools: DxDesigner, xDX Designer VX OR Equivalent

Experience in the design of electronic products and tooling used in applications requiring high reliability and extended life

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

Communications design and simulation experience with tools such as Matlab and Simulink

Understanding of Design to Cost (DTC+), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT)

Familiarity with bid, proposal and earned value methods

DO-160 or MIL-STD-810/MIL-STD-461 qualification

Lighting protection circuits and testing

FPGA development

Experience in proposal and cost estimation support of Hardware pursuits.

Experience in design support for Special Test Equipment and tooling required for IV&V and production efforts.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
